Balthus (1908–2001) is viewed as one of the last great masters in twentieth-century art. The planned retrospective at the Fondation Beyeler will bring together a wide range of important paintings from every phase of the oeuvre of this legendary artist, reflecting the multiple ambiguities in the staging of his remarkable images.

April 29 – September 2, 2018

This ambitious exhibition will be the first to study in depth the parallel, creative careers of two of the 20th century’s most influential artists: Alberto Giacometti and Francis Bacon.

January 21 – April 29, 2018 

To mark Georg Baselitz’s 80th birthday, the Fondation Beyeler is devoting an extensive exhibition to him.
